Designed in collaboration with Charlotte Perriand for Prouvé's Tropique house, the Potence Lamp (1950) is considered one of Jean Prouvé’s purist masterpieces. The Potence lamp provides a unique solution for suspension lighting with its ingenious engineering and elegant form.

Materials & Features
Consisting of a single metal rod that extends almost 7 feet from a wall-mounted vertical bracket, there is no base to occupy floor space. A comfortable wood ball-ended handle moves the entire lamp laterally to illuminate a 180-degree range of space.

Jean Prouvé, a pre-eminent French furniture designer and architect, was originally trained to be a blacksmith under Emile Robert, Enghien, and Szabo in Paris. Prouvé spent most of his working life designing prefabricated buildings and furniture while being cognizant of the economy of labour and efficiency.

Prouvé was a major advocate of the durability and form of sheet metal. His designs illustrate of a work philosophy that includes knowledge of the materials at hand, a commitment to collaboration between artists and craftsmen, an attention to evolving technical developments, and "the principle of never postponing decisions so as neither to lose the impetus nor indulge in unrealistic forecasts." Prouvé is credited with the advancement of the idea of nomadic architecture, likening a chair to a house, and designing both with portability in mind.

If, when your furniture arrives, and for whatever reason it is not what you expected, we will remove it and refund your money. Alternatively you can exchange to a different model, colour or size.

Please inform us by email or phone of your decision to return or exchange your furniture within 14 days and we will organise a collection date. A collection charge of £25 will be applied.

2.     Two year guarantee.
Our guarantee covers any defect in manufacture and materials, allowing for fair wear and tear. In the unlikely event of a claim, we will repair or replace your furniture entirely free of charge.
