Few objects in the history of furniture design have had as great an impact as the Organic Chairs designed by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen in 1940 for the famous competition 'Organic Design in Home Furnishings', which was organised by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. 

Although wartime conditions prevented these models from entering production, they are direct predecessors of many chair designs which established the international reputations of Charles and Ray Eames (as well as Eero Saarinen) during the 1940s and '50s, and which also had a lasting influence on the development of design.

Materials & features
The fibreglass seat shell is lined with polyurethane foam which is upholstered in high grade wool. The legs of the chair are made of solid American walnut or solid oak.

Not only did Charles Eames (1907-1978) and his wife, Ray (1912-1988) design some of the most important examples of 20th century furniture, they also applied their talents to devising ingenious children's toys, puzzles, films, exhibitions and such iconic mid-20th century Los Angeles buildings as the Eames House and Entenza House in Pacific Palisades.

The combination of visionary design and ingenuity that had prompted Charles and Ray Eames prototype a mass-manufactured product in their spare room was to characterise their work over the next four decades. Together they not only designed some of the most influential and innovative furniture of the late 20th century, but through their films, teaching, writing and their life together in the house they designed in Pacific Palisades, they defined an open, organic, emotionally expressive approach to design and lifestyle.

1.     14 days from the day of delivery to change your mind.
If, when your furniture arrives, and for whatever reason it is not what you expected, we will remove it and refund your money. Alternatively you can exchange to a different model, colour or size.

Please inform us by email or phone of your decision to return or exchange your furniture within 14 days. The customer is responsible for all returns however we can arrange returns on your behalf. A collection charge of £55 will be applied plus our original cost of delivery at £25 per item. Although delivery is free to you if you decide to keep the item, we must recover these costs in the case of a return.

2.     Two year guarantee.
Our guarantee covers any defect in manufacture and materials, allowing for fair wear and tear. In the unlikely event of a claim, we will repair or replace your furniture entirely free of charge.
