Designed for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1958 by Arne Jacobsen - for the suites, lounges and the Panoramic room at the 21st floor. An outstretched 2-seater version of the Swan chair covered in leather or fabric and resting on an aluminium shaker base. 

Materials & features
The shell is made of polyurethane with fibreglass reinforcement. It is upholstered with cold-cured foam and covered with Danish wool or leather.

The shaker base is made of moulded aluminium. The two parts of the base are connected with an aluminium rail, which is screwed onto the bottom of the sofa with 2 M6 screws in each shaker base as per the original design. The feet are provided with synthetic black glides. 

Our swan sofa does not have stitching running directly through the back of the sofa. All stitching is painstakingly finished to perfection ensuring it runs along the edges of the sofa where it’s supposed to be. The leather upholstered swan sofas are finished with piping.

ARNE JACOBSEN (1902-1971) was one of Denmark's most influential 20th century architects and designers. Both his buildings and products, like his Swan and Egg Chairs, combine modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.

From the 1950s onwards Jacobsen, or "the fat man" as he was called, was the dominant figure in Danish architecture, but outside Denmark he made his mark as a furniture and product designer. As well as the Swan, Egg and Series 7, he was responsible for another 20th century classic, the Cylinda Line stainless steel cocktail kit and tableware which he designed in the late 1960s for Stelton, a company run by his foster son Peter Holmblad. Jacobsen spent three years finessing the project and finally produced a collection of 17 objects for Stelton, all based on the shape of a cylinder. When the Cylinda Line was launched, sales were so poor that Holmblad sent his wife into the Copenhagen department stores to place orders for it. The Cylinda Line then went on to win numerous international design awards, although the abstemious Jacobsen insisted on using the Martini mixer for hot soup.

If, when your furniture arrives, and for whatever reason it is not what you expected, we will remove it and refund your money. Alternatively you can exchange to a different model, colour or size.

Please inform us by email or phone of your decision to return or exchange your furniture within 14 days and we will organise a collection date. A collection charge of £25 will be applied.

2.     Two year guarantee.
Our guarantee covers any defect in manufacture and materials, allowing for fair wear and tear. In the unlikely event of a claim, we will repair or replace your furniture entirely free of charge.
