Arne Jacobsen is considered one of the most influential furniture designers of the last century. His work had great impact on the modern furniture industry. 

The Swan chair along with the Egg and Swan sofa were designed in 1958 for the lobby and lounge areas in the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The Swan chair came from Jacobsen's search for a curved fluid form which required minimum padding and was lightweight without losing comfort. Seen in bars, hotels and homes worldwide, this piece has nevertheless retained the aura of exclusivity that has made it a modern classic. 

How our chair is made:

The inner shell is made of fiberglass and is padded with a multi density foam and upholstered in genuine Italian leather or wool fabric. The chair is mounted on a 4-star heavy gauge stainless steel base with 360° swivel function.

ARNE JACOBSEN (1902-1971) was one of Denmark's most influential 20th century architects and designers. Both his buildings and products, like his Swan and Egg Chairs, combine modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.

From the 1950s onwards Jacobsen, or "the fat man" as he was called, was the dominant figure in Danish architecture, but outside Denmark he made his mark as a furniture and product designer. As well as the Swan, Egg and Series 7, he was responsible for another 20th century classic, the Cylinda Line stainless steel cocktail kit and tableware which he designed in the late 1960s for Stelton, a company run by his foster son Peter Holmblad. Jacobsen spent three years finessing the project and finally produced a collection of 17 objects for Stelton, all based on the shape of a cylinder. When the Cylinda Line was launched, sales were so poor that Holmblad sent his wife into the Copenhagen department stores to place orders for it. The Cylinda Line then went on to win numerous international design awards, although the abstemious Jacobsen insisted on using the Martini mixer for hot soup.

If, when your furniture arrives, and for whatever reason it is not what you expected, we will remove it and refund your money. Alternatively you can exchange to a different model, colour or size.

Please inform us by email or phone of your decision to return or exchange your furniture within 14 days. The customer is responsible for all returns however we can arrange returns on your behalf. A collection charge of £55 will be applied plus our original cost of delivery at £25 per item. Although delivery is free to you if you decide to keep the item, we must recover these costs in the case of a return.

2.     Two year guarantee.
Our guarantee covers any defect in manufacture and materials, allowing for fair wear and tear. In the unlikely event of a claim, we will repair or replace your furniture entirely free of charge.
